How the Software Purchase and Download Process Works:
Step 1 – When you place your order for the software, our activation team will be notified to create your user account based on the email you provided during checkout, so please make sure to enter the email address that you want to be associated with your Lifetime Trailmaps account. We highly recommend (but do not require) a GMAIL email address. GMAIL is so much easier to setup than Yahoo, .ME, work emails, etc.
Step 2 – Upon receipt of your purchase, we will send you a second email, titled “Lifetime Trailmaps Activation Instructions & Request for Serial#”, with the download link and installation instructions including a request for the serial number of the device you intend to install the App on. This normally happens within 30 min to 2 hours. However, this may take up to 24 hours in some, extreme, instances. Depending on your provider and/or possibly your settings, the 2nd email may go to your SPAM or JUNK folder, so please check there before letting us know that you didn’t receive the product download link. If you do not receive the second email within 24 hours, please send an email to activation@lifetimetrailmaps.
IMPORTANT – This software is NOT intended to be purchased and setup in a hurry at the trail head. The initial setup requires a STRONG Wi-Fi internet connection in order to download the latest trail data from our server and should only take a few minutes. Having a poor internet connection will cause issues and you may be directed to tech support, which is closed on weekends and holidays.
Samsung only, but why? We’ve tested many different devices and our results conclude that Samsung’s internal GPS chipset offers stronger and more reliable GPS signals than any other hardware available, especially in the deep woods canopies with heavy coverage. This software does NOT work on Apple devices or with iOS. We recommend the newest Galaxy Tablet that you can budget. The Active Series and the S series are the nicer nits from Samsung. A series are sufficient except the LITE models.
Mapping Update Options: This software purchase includes our FREE annual mapping updates for life (1 comprehensive mapping update per year), uploaded directly to your device. If you would like to take advantage of our frequent updates (10-15 per year), please complete your software purchase and once you receive your email order confirmation, go to our PREMIUM mapping updates page and purchase your premium subscription. The premium subscription service is $49 per year and renews every year unless you choose to cancel it.
